Abstract:
Explores the origins, context, and legacy of Hurufism, a 14th century mystical Islamic movement centered on the divine nature of letters. No mention of the Bahá'í Faith, but gives context to some terms used in the Bahá'í Writings.
Notes:
Provides part of the background of several terms that appear frequently in the Baha'i Writings, for example, the Throne of God, the Face of God, the Pen, the Manifestation (see in index under "locus of manifestation"), and the Sidratu'l-Muntaha ("Lote-Tree of the Boundary"; see in index under "Tree").
